Beta release!
Hello and thank you for checking out Farmhand Go! This is the first officially released version of this casual farming game we have been developing for the last few months. It started off as a very simple weekend game jam, and then took on a life of its own! Making prototypes is always a fun experience and one that we think is absolutely critical to developing a fun game. Our initial set of ideas were not bad, but they were definitely lacking the depth that we really wanted the game to have. We were also very conscious of keeping the game casual though, so many of our ideas were scoped with this in mind.
Once we were able to start to play the game, we were able to quickly see which systems were working and which ones weren't. Through lots of playtesting and spaghetti throwing the game that we released today started to take shape. It's hard to articulate all the little details we worked on to get it to where it is, but it's easy to see visually how far we've come when you compare that first prototype to where we are now.
This is definitely not the end of development for Farmhand Go! either, but more like the beginning. We are releasing it in an early access form hoping to gather feedback from players about what they like and don't like while we finish polishing the details and getting mobile app versions suited up. If you have the time to play it, please do and then tell us what you thought!
Thank you for taking the time to check it out, happy farming!
